I'm sick of these fast weekends

Another weekend flies by and here we are, officially in Autumn already.

GROWN-UP MONSTERS closed on Thursday. As expected, it was our best show and we had a lot of fun with the scenes. MIXTAPE opened on Friday night to a great audience. The show went pretty well, with only a few minor hiccups. Overall, it was a nice audience. (AE and Chloe came, an unexpected and pleasant surprise!) I can't believe how much I get my ass kicked in this show. I get "hit by a car" a number of times, hit on the head with a gun and shot in the stomach. GROWN-UP MONSTERS was the show where I wear a lot of masks; MIXTAPE is the show where I throw my body around like a rag doll. It's exhausting.

I filmed a small part for a short film my buddies are doing for the Second City Short Film Festival on Saturday afternoon. It took twice as long to film the scene than expected, so I hardly had time to prepare for my birthday party. A lot of people showed up and it seemed like everyone had a pretty good time. And I apologize to anyone on here if I didn't invite you; please don't take it personally. My apartment is only so big so I had to be somewhat limited. At any rate, it was a lot of fun and no fuses were blown, which was a shock to me.

Today was my Milwaukee day. It was probably dumb of me to schedule so many meetings in a day cuz it ended up cutting off good Chicago adventure time with Erin. I was running 15 minutes late the whole day. At any rate, I got into town at 1:15pm and had lunch with David, Aaron and Dana and caught up with them. Then I met with Wes at 3:15 to discuss the upcoming cabaret-style comedy show we're going to do together at Stritch in December. (I have a feeling that's going to sneak up on me.) Finally, at 5:15 I met up with Jenn for some quality buddy time before she goes to California at the end of the week.

As she touched on in her journal, I think she and I continue to share a lot of the same experiences so we've grown to really relate to each other. I'm very proud of this huge step she's taking and I support her decision to the fullest. I'll get that CD from you sometime.

Mom update: I called her today and she's doing much better. She's taking some perscribed medication to help cope and she's had a few days to talk to friends and family. They've all assured her that she has their support. If she ends up getting laid off, we can deal with it. All she can do is try her best.
