War on Christmas

So in preparation for shlepping pies to my mother's house for Thanksgiving, I hauled out the cake carrier I bought at Target last year.  It's red and green, and still has a label stuck on it.  The label says "Target X-mas."  That's right -- Target has taken the Christ out of Christmas, people!  At least it doesn't say "Target Holiday."

And even more outrageous are the Christians who don't realize that the X was, like the fish symbol, an old means of identifying each other in unsafe circumstances. The X is a Chi, which is the first letter in the Greek word Christos.

So Xmas is a perfectly cromulent abbreviation, Bill O'Reilly notwithstanding.

Well, phew! Thank goodness they didn't take the X out of Xmas:)
And the symbol for Bill O'Reilly??? Ooooh, I could think of a few:)
