In Maryland, you have to complete your parole and probation before you can vote. That seems like bullshit to me. Of course, not being able to vote while you're doing time seems like bullshit to me. It's like being sentenced to exile -- something we don't do to citizens. Unfortunately, felons and their families are not a powerful lobby.
In Kentucky and Virginia, once you commit a felony, you can never vote again. Whoa. Are they hoping all the ex-offenders will move out of state? Because that's what I would do.
