What is this world coming to? Chapter CXLVII
"Democrats are largely opposed to torture"
That's a direct quote from this morning's Times.
1. Opposition to torture no longer goes without saying in this country.
2. Largely opposed. That means some Democrats are in favor of it.
3. The quote is from an article about John McCain, which states that he is the only Republican presidential candidate who is unambiguously opposed to torture (AFAIK, he's also the only one who has ever been tortured). And have you noticed he's not doing real well?
I don't like this century. I really don't.
