Prom/Boston

Jun 27, 2006 00:23

I really should be getting to bed, but I kinda wanted to drop a line here first.
Prom was a good time. It was fun to get all dressed up and go out like that. Emily looked great. All the girls looked great. The food was better this year I'd say. It was an all you can eat buffet with salads, pasta, potatoes, veggies, lasagna, honey garlic chicken and drinks. There was some dancing, I got to socialize a bunch with friends and old teachers a like. I had to leave by 1:30 so I could get a decent sleep so I missed out on the hypnotist.
Hopped on the plane at 6:30 AM and flew into Boston. Other guys on the team were delayed from the night before so I met up with them right away and that was awesome. It was about an hour drive into the tournament. The place was wicked. We played in Devens Mass. at a military base. The fields were like 4 times the size of the Halifax Commons. Over 60 teams, over a thousand players and tons of discs. It was wicked. We played pretty well, meeting our goal of advancing in the Open Division from the lower to the higher tier. I enjoyed myself a lot and I think everyone else did. We all gave it our all and know what we need to do for the rest of the season. Luckily the rain held off. There was no wind, and the weather was basically just sweet. We finished 6th out of 16 in our division, so that was sweet.
Drove back that night with Pat, Nathan and Pat. That was pretty good, we busted through quick getting home in about 11 hours. Sadly I didn't get to stop and see Gill, because we didn't go through the St.Stephen border crossing.
Today I finally caught up on some well needed sleep. Watched some movies and napped. I went to Jill's tonight for some mad disc and to watch the start of the Life Aquatic. It was a sweet time.
Next big tourny is No Boarders in Ottawa mid July. I'm stoked for that. K, bed time.
