Sunflower field

...Just as I was about to start posting a big earthquake happened! ^^; After the earthquake in Miyazaki yesterday, which I didn't feel because it was all the way in Kyushu, they've been warning for a "megaquake" that may occur within the next week or so... I didn't do any kind of special preparation or hoarding, because my emergency kit is pretty up to date, and how big is the chance that something really happens, anyway...?

But when it started shaking just now, for a moment I was like "Crap, it's that megaquake!" and I dived under the table and scraped my knees a bit ^^; The alarm on my phone went off, and a couple of things fell out of my bookshelf, but the shaking subsided after less than a minute. Then I saw on my phone that it was actually not even a big quake (shindo 4~5) but it happened RIGHT under my corner of Kanagawa, which is why the initial shake felt so intense ^^;;; And here I was fearing that some HUGE earthquake had happened somewhere in Kyushu and it was just THAT powerful that I could feel it over here as well. ^^;

Well then... If not for the warning, I probably wouldn't have bothered moving, and remained in place to see if it would get any stronger, but because of all the fearmongering I tried to move immediately and see where that got me. ^^;;;

My Akatsuki no Yona manga and a Toumyu CD fell out of the bookshelf =(

Anyway, I was going to post some pics of the pretty sunflower field that I've been visiting regularly on my walks this week~

A few days ago, the first flowers started blooming~

You can walk between the flowers! (There's a sign saying it's allowed, just don't damage them)

Flowers and mountains... Oyama was hiding in the clouds this day

Train~

Close-up

The next day, I walked again, and suddenly... I thought a big Kannon statue had appeared in the middle of the rice fields, lol. It probably didn't help that I was wearing my old glasses which are about a point too weak. Only after getting closer, I saw that it was an electricity mast under maintenance xD

I bought my camera next time so I could take more close-ups, and saw this pretty white egret in the fields

Lots more flowers blooming now!

This one's escaping! xD  It was standing along the road some distance away from the others

Still no Oyama though, it's been cloudy for most of the week, with random rain and thunderstorms

That didn't stop other people from coming to take pics of the flowers (though I suspect some of the guys were there to take pictures of trains...)

The little viewing platform gives the perfect angle for trains and flowers

From tomorrow on, I've got a couple of days off for Obon... I don't have many fixed plans though, except the Tenimyu ticket I've got, and meeting a friend who's visiting from the USA!

My company's not exhibiting at Comiket this year, so I'm not going there... And apparently there's a typhoon on the way too, so who even knows what the weather will bring. I guess I'll just end up doing whatever I feel like in my own neighborhood - go to the outdoor pool again, go to the onsen, go for a walk or jog, go eat some yummy food, or just stay home and read or watch anime... Oh, and I wanna go to the cinema to see the Mononoke movie! But that's about all I can think of for now...

photos, japan, wtf, weather, random
