Obligatory episode 107 impressions post... XD
Yay, Killua is back! So I should probably say something about that... ^^; I loved this scene in the manga so I was really curious how they'd handle it, and I was not disappointed! =3 I loved how happy he looked when talking to Gon on the phone for the first time since his near-death experience, the little blush on his face just made that whole scene! <3 <3 <3 And the conversation with Ikarugo really shows his growth as a person, he's totally applying the things he learned from Gon about friendship. There's so many parallels, like the whole "I thought we were already friends", or "How do you always know the exact words that I want to hear?". If Gon is Killua's 'light', then Killua is probably Ikarugo's 'light' in the same way, if that makes any sense. It's amazing how he was able to grow and actually become the type of person that he could only admire before.
I did notice some minor changes, like they left out the part where the nurse said what he had to pay for exactly (Stitches, anesthetic, blood transfusion, IV, all that stuff), I remember learning a lot of Japanese medical terms from that while reading the manga 'cause I had to look them all up in a dictionary, so I couldn't help noticing. ^^; Also in the manga, Killua was still pretty much naked when leaving the hospital and during his whole conversation with Ikarugo, and then he suddenly had new clothes in the next scene he appeared after reuniting with Gon. That was always kinda silly, and I wondered when he got changed or where he got his new clothes. So I guess the anime 'fixed' that by showing that he got a new shirt at the hospital? It kinda bothered me that his shoes were not dirty or damaged at all though, I'm pretty sure that one of those darts pierced his foot and shoe completely, and it seems kinda improbable that he found new ones exactly like that... Oh well, anime logic, I guess... ^^;
In other HxH related news, it seems like there's going to be a whole bunch of new merchandise at the upcoming Jump festa! It's mostly T-shirts though, and I don't buy anime T-shirts because they never fit me anyways, and even if they did I probably wouldn't wear them. ^^; The only thing in this list I find myself wanting really badly is the Greed Island ring and book cover, those would be so awesome to have for cosplay! So expensive though... =__=;; The clear files and badges are nice too, but I already have a lot of clear files and badges so I don't really need those... Doujin badges are cuter than the official ones anyways =3 I guess I'll just go there, wander around and see whatever I can find. ^^;
