Ben poked his head into the room. "Hey. Ender said you were leaving."

"Hey, Ben," Bruce said. "Yeah. My shuttle to the airport should be at the causeway soon, so it's just about time."

"Where are you headed?" Ben asked. "Straight home?"

"A month-long detour in New York first. Then finally back to Gotham. That town's waited this long for me to come home from school, another few weeks won't hurt it," Bruce said.

"New York is fun!" Ben said usefully. "We got drunk there once and made Tony and Warren buy a bar!"

"I think I'll hold off on buying any bars until I can legally drink in them," Bruce said. "But aside from that, I'm expecting to have a good time."

"Good," Ben said. "I hear that's traditional before college anyway."

"Well, I'll be following that up with a few months working for my family's charitable foundation and then school, so it's possible I'm not adhering strictly to tradition," Bruce joked.

Ben laughed. "It depends. Is part of it going to be work in Europe?"

"Probably not," Bruce said. "Although it is my last name is on the letterhead. I could probably make it happen if I wanted."

"Maybe I should see some of Europe," Ben mused. "I haven't done that."

"It's well worth it if you have some time. I've bounced around several parts on vacations," Bruce said.

Training missions, vacations, same difference.

"I'll have to check with Ender--I'm at his disposal, really, until the ship's ready to go his colony," Ben said. "Do you recommend anywhere in particular?"

"I had a pretty good time in England," Bruce said. What with teaming up with a demon to fight a ghost. "Although I mostly spent time with a friend and didn't do many tourist things."

"They might think I'm from there with my accent," Ben mused. "That would be funny."
