Bruce's evening run had been going more or less according to plan, unless you counted the number of rabbit orgies he had to avoid or at least make a point to avert his eyes from. It was weird. And creepy. And it just looked confusing ( Read more... )

Cara had a far more permanent and (even with her lack of cooking skills) tasty way of dealing with the current problem. She was also headed back to the dorms when she ran into Bruce.

"What happened to you?" Ignore the fact the hems of her hideous pants were looking a touch more ragged than they had this morning.

"A rabbit got my ankles," Bruce said, very simply since he was in such a delightful mood right now.

"These two tried that," she Cara, gesturing to her load. "Didn't work."

She was not this far from giggling, she was very sympathetic, really. "Need a hand?"

"I think I can somehow manage getting back with minor ankle injuries," Bruce said. "Especially since now I know to watch out for the rabbits."

"Are you sure? They're vicious little bastards." Sorry, Bruce, but after the week she was having, being beaten up by a bunny was hilarious.

"If you want, you can go hunt more. Otherwise, I'm fine," Bruce said.

He disagreed about the humor of the situation for some reason.

Cara had no idea why he wouldn't find it funny. None.

"No, I'm fine, more hunting would be a waste of meat." Besides, if she left him alone, he might get attacked again.

"If you say so. Nice outfit, by the way," Bruce said.

If she was going to keep this up, he was going to make fun of her uniform. At least he knew he looked good and comfortable in a sweater vest.

That was a low move, Bruce. Low.

"I didn't pick it." Totally different to getting into a fight with a rabbit.

She went for his ankles. It was tough to go lower than that. "You chose the pants over the fetching skirt," Bruce pointed out.

Only because the rabbit got there first.

"The skirt wasn't practical. Least not for fighting." Thus there was no choice.

"I don't believe that's the kind of thinking the school board would appreciate this week," Bruce offered.

"Do I look like I care what they appreciate?" Wasn't it enough they took her leathers, they had to take fighting as well?

"In that outfit, you kind of do," Bruce teased.

Now that was just twisting the knife. Especially since he was wearing nearly the same thing.

"Right, I'll show you how much I care about the board." Cara went to shove Bruce, it would have been a punch on the shoulder, but you know, he was injured and she didn't want to make it worse.

But the outfit kinda worked on him. The power of a good sweater vest couldn't be denied.

Bruce stumbled back a little since his ankles weren't at their best before he regrouped. "I'm not fighting tonight, Cara. I was in a bar fight last night, was just attacked by a rabbit, and I actually do want the board to be happy."
