When Bruce stepped out of the portal, he was rather surprised. For one thing, he expected to end up in Egypt for some specialized training. This... wasn't that. It looked like London, only with blimps. And giant TV screens. Yet it was still somewhat old-timey. Maybe even Victorian judging by the clothing he saw on the streets. It was, in a word, confusing. Really, the only normal thing about any of this was a group of children covered in dirt over by an alley.

Yeah, he was going to have to do some digging to figure out exactly what was going on.
