"And now you have me wondering how Mr. Tumnus would react upon hearing that proclamation," Peter said, not totally unaffected by the cuteness of the coat.

"He would have to agree," Willow said. She indicated the coat in question. "Look at these wee little sleeves! You know you could take this coat into battle and win because all our enemies would be falling down and awwwwing themselves right out of a fighty mood."

Peter chuckled. "I like how I'm just taking the coat," he teased lightly. "Because you'd not allow me to take Alex in the coat, and that adds half of the cute."

"If you feel like stopping a battle so you can change diapers, go right ahead," Willow teased back.

"I don't even want to think about that," Peter said, making a face. "Just the coat will do well enough. Or, with luck, we'll not have too much to worry about in that line til Spring."

"In which case he'll be wearing cute pastels," Willow agreed.

Peter cast her a sharp look that said he didn't have a clue if he was to believe her or not. "That's like pink and yellow and the like, yes?"

"It could also be light blue," Willow replied, trying to hide her grin.

"As long as it's not lavender," he decided, reaching up to either brush the snow out of her hair or drop snow on her - one or the other.

"I was saving lavender for you," Willow replied.

"Or you," Peter pointed out. "It'd be prettier on you."

[willbedone]

"I think your daddy is being chivalrous," Willow told Alex. Alex, for his part, was more interested in trying to get his hand into his mouth.

"Or perhaps he doesn't quite feel the need to wear lavender yet," he replied, bending down to try to extricate Alex's hand from his mouth. "It's going to be cold, you know, now that you've gnawed on it. That's what we have mittens for."

"Cute mittens," Willow said, by way of a correction.

"The ones Mrs Beaver made," Peter agreed, trying to convince Alex to let him slip the mitten back on.

"Which makes them doubly cute," Willow said.
