TTS Campfire, Wednesday morning

May 24, 2006 11:51

Willow was outside her cabin again.

Today she was having a breakfast of champions that consisted of donuts and soda.

She was also reading a very thick book on British heraldry.

No reason in particular on that last bit.

Jamie didn't have any workshops going on until the afternoon so spent the morning wandering around a bit.

As you do.

He gave the gang at the campfire a friendly wave. "Hey folks. What's the good word?"

Willow waved back. "Hey Jamie!"

"Hey Willow. Find what you were looking for yesterday?"

"Hope so," Willow said. "I may be back though. I need to experiment with CD players and see if I can come up with something that dryads can operate. How's it going with you?"

"Pretty good. I had the morning free and- I'm sorry did you say 'dryads'?"

"Right," Willow confirmed.

"As in those nymphy things that hang out around trees?" Jamie asked. "We have those here?"

"Not here," Willow said. "At least, I don't think here. But there's a grove and Peter and his sister Susan, who's younger than him but older? They invited me to come to the grove with them and meet them and they said that dryads like music so I figured CDs but dryads aren't so much for touching stuff so I was thinking I'd find a way to program a CD player so the dryads could use it even if they didn't touch it like you or I would."

Jamie blinked a couple of times at the explanation Will had about dryads and older but younger sisters but he was getting more and more used to Willow's way of explaning things. "That sounds like an interesting idea. Kind of of like a sharing of diverse music between different realms. Cool idea, Willow."

"Thanks," Willow said. "It's presenting an interesting challenge. Ultimately I think it'll be a combination of technology and magic."

"Something I'd imagine you being very good at," Jamie said with a knowing look.

"Possibly," Willow replied, innocently. "I have my first computer workshop today! Do you think they'll let us hack things?"

"You could always ask nicely. Maybe pout a little?"

"Like this?" Willow demonstrated.

"It would work on me," Jamie said with a grin. "Let's hope your workshop teacher can respect the power of the pout."

"I've got this in my arsenal too," Willow said, giving another, slightly less pouty but still forlorn expression.
