TTS Campfire, Wednesday morning

May 24, 2006 11:51

Willow was outside her cabin again.

Today she was having a breakfast of champions that consisted of donuts and soda.

She was also reading a very thick book on British heraldry.

No reason in particular on that last bit.

On his way to karate (the long way round perhaps, but it avoided Meerkat territory), Peter noticed Willow. Walking up to her, he bowed, "good morning, Lady. How's the day treating you?"

Willow smiled. "Good morning, Sir Peter. Am I going to be serenaded today?"

Yeah, she'd listened to radio. Ha.

Peter blinked. A lot. Blushing, he replied, "if you wish. Not that stupid song though."

"So this isn't a habit," Willow said. "You're not going to go around singing to all the cabins in camp or anything?"

"Defintely not a habit. Next time I participate in waking people up, it will not be with singing." He grinned hopefully, "the radio made it sound worse than it was?"

"Uh-huh." Willow scootched over so he could sit down if he wanted. "And how would you wake people up the next time, then?"

"With their caffeinated beverage of choice and assorted pastries if it was a planned waking," Peter said as he took a seat beside Willow. "If the waking is of the unplanned variety, probably more along the lines of 'to arms, to arms, we're under attack.'"

"What if they only have one arm?" Willow asked. She split her donut and handed the unnibbled half to him.

"Thank you!" Peter said, accepting the proffered donut half. "I'd hope they were really good at throwing stones then, I suppose."

"And that they don't live in glass houses," Willow pointed out. She held up a soda can. "Have you tried this yet?"

"True, though if we were under attack, I'd probably send the one-armed to the roof so they'd be more protected from any type of hand to hand combat. A good aerial barrage can work wonders," Peter said thoughtfully. He laughed at the soda though, "most definitely. Cans are almost as neat an innovation as TV."

"Plus they'll be high enough to kick people in the head," Willow said. "That could be useful."

She pouted. "I can't introduce you to soda? It's like you have a whole snacking life that I'm unaware of. I'm out of the loop."

"You've already introduced me to brownies and Pop Rocks. My snack food outlook has expanded dramatically since meeting you," Peter replied. Definitely affected by the pout, he continued, "I only had Coke before?"

Willow perked up. "This is Pepsi."

"Is there much of a difference?" Peter asked.

"Oh yes," Willow said, solemnly. "Huge. There are wars. Mascot casualties everywhere."
