I...never actually got his name. He has...uhm...black armor I think? And he appeared in the woods with me. He doesn't talk, but he's a noble comrade and made sure to save the weaker people in the forest, without hesitation! You should be proud of him!

If you woke up in a forest, and Rookie more or elss single-handedly fended off trippy-wolf-things, saved a boy with an eyepatch, and directed everyone to stay back without saying a word, and you happened to be a japanese boy of sixteen, who stays home across the day, hunting down rogue ninja, doing laundry, and watching television throghout--in which there is a fairly steady diet of mecha-programs, you'd probably think "protector robots", too. Poor Gau has to deal with a lot, back home after being brought into some secret ninja world to be absolutely and totally useless unless there's paperwork involved.
But of course, nobody knows that, and it definitely wouldn't occur to Gau to self-analyze long enough to discover all that riveting backstory and self-motivation. he's confused, and his first urge when he's confused, is to be loud.]
