[ hi willaknet! did you miss this ragequitting voice booming through your dinky devices? because oh, she mad. she real mad. ]Look, I don't know if there's been some recent spike in the magical disappearing people act but I think I've had enough. Either there's been some unannounced hide-and-seek game going on or somehow people are getting tickets

Yoite-kun says that Rokujo-kun went missing just like this before, and he was alone.
[flipping pages in the background, and more didactic angryboy information]
Some people have to be finding a way back, and they have to be taken back against their will!
And Jack-san said earlier that theyere seem to be more people appearing who have connections to people on the caravan than otherwise!
I don't know how or why, but both of those are probably really important! If we can find out how the people who leave actually leave, then that's probably a faster way home, am I right, miss?!

I've never heard of the people you've mentioned just now--but other than noticing the missing people until it's too late, I'm not exactly sure there's a proven method to it.
The person who went missing, how recent was it? Did they show up again?
Reply
I don't know! I wasn't here, and Yoite-kun didn't say. I only know one missing person for sure, and that's Rokujo-kun, but he was the shinrabansho weilder, so- [Cuts himself off. Right. This woman wouldn't know. He explains quickly, and flatly:]
It's the ultimate forbidden technique in ninjitsu. There's only one weilder, and it can't be taken out of its host without killing them. It alters reality at the bearer's whim. [a small noise in the background like a pen on paper, a quickly scribbled note.]
Rokujo-kun wouldn't have been taken someplace without the Shinrabansho's consent or submission, and he certainly wouldn't leave Yoite-kun, so whatever takes people takes them against their will, and it has to be very powerful. Like a god, maybe, or something on that level at the least.

[ but still. maybe he's onto something. it's better than what she's got for now, at least. ]
...it happens on and off. Sporadically and without warning. I take it you're one of the more recent arrivals?

I woke up in a forest a few days ago with a bunch of strangers.
[grips his shirt against the massive scar down his shoulder]
And I wouldn't notice something like that at all. [grim bitterness] I don't have any powers. Not like some of the people here.
[Teethgrit]
If there's something blocking the flow of ki in all the arrivals here, that's highly suspicious, though! It should just prove my point that something is probably watching! It doesn't make sense for there to be a limit to the power of the people brought here, otherwise!

[ she pauses at what he says next though. flow of ki? what's he even talking about? ]
So you're going to blame a higher force for this?

Ninja!Rage!]
It's not about whether or not there's a higher power or a god! All the evidence points towards something jerking us around with a "god-like" power! That's all I meant! It has to be! Something's blocking that sort of power!
It's either a being, or it's a substance! It doesn't have to be some deity to be believed in or not! It could be something in the air or the grass, even, but it's THERE! And it makes sense to assume it was put there on purpose!
Even having a caravan just lying around for people to come aboard when they materialize on a different world is suspicious!
Reply
[ why does she get all the ragey, angry, psychotic little shotas? ]
Second? Screaming that things are suspicious without doing anything isn't exactly productive, is it. I don't know what kind of personal grudge or traumatic problem you're dealing with right now but raising your voice at me isn't going to make you feel any better.

It's not about feeling better!
I've been gathering everything I can find out the disappearences. The problem is convincing other people who've been taken in by this!

[ there miiiight be a bit of irritation seeping through her voice now. hard to keep cool when your sister, her idiot boyfriend, and your surrogate student just disappear into thin air and some kid comes up screaming into his junogam at you. ]

I want to do something about it.
Having capable people on the carvan willing to sit back and let others lose people who are important to them and only get upset when it happens to them is sickening. I refuse to be like that! If people lose the people important to them, I want to do something to help no matter what the cost is!
There have to be more people willing to do the same!
[Is he...offering to help you in a roundabout angry confrontational way? I suppose he is, isn't he? More like demanding, even.]

...they're responding. Somehow, the most recent batch of people who disappeared left with their junogams with them. They must be near a body of water--they keep mentioning the sound of running water.
[ now's your chance to be useful, boy. REDEEEEEM YOURSELF ]

Running water? [His nose wrinkles.] Like a brook or a stream? Excuse me. [Pauses to get the name of someone he meets] Are you sure it was running water? try asking your friends to give as much detail as they can on what they hear!
[More stairs] I'm trying to do a count on who's left in the caravan. I'm checking on who's in the towers, and I'm trying to get other people to find everyone else they can and account for them using the roommate list. I made a copy earlier in my notebook, and I'm checking people off! I'll need your name, miss. I'm Meguro Gau. I didn't mean to be rude.
[clear steps through a hallway.] I'm also trying to find if anyone has a map of the world--with running water we can start looking for the closest water sources and search there!
[Not ENTIRELY useless ( ... )

I'm getting more intel about their surroundings as we speak. I can verify if some people came and left the caravan since I've been here for a while now, and as for the map? Ask around for Nemesis.
He might have what you're looking for.
[ SOB, PLEASE MAKE LIGHT SOME STRAWBERRY TAIYAKI. she can do with some sweets right now. ]

That would help a lot, actually... [Frowning unseen at his notebook.] I might miss others. I'm...I'm only checking for people in the caravan. I can't keep track of everyone in the ghost-town-place. [swallows] So...uhm...help would be...nice. [awkward.]
Nemesis-san has a map? I'll have to find him...or her. [Corrects himself quickly, feeling stupid.]
Uhm...If you find out anything...
[Oh yes, sweets. Right by your door, too~ It's about all he CAN do to thank someone after all. Nothing says gratitude like trying to give people diabetic comas. He might make little custards in hindsight. Eggs are a lot easier to get ahold of than identifiable ( ... )

...and Nemesis is a 'him', though finding him might be harder than you think. He has a habit of disappearing every once in a while.
[ she pauses thoughtfully, thinking of what else to tell him before shaking her head. that's enough. she'll sit back for now and see what he's capable of, or at least, what kind of person he is. ]
The same goes to you. If you find anything, tell me as soon as possible. Two heads are better than one.
