[ there's a crackle of static, as if it's taken some time for the Jungogam to work ]

-is this? Can anyone hear me? I can't believe I'm talking to a box.

If there's anyone out there who can hear me, I'd like to know where I am. This forest is unfamiliar and I've lost my horse. I'd appreciate directions to the nearest village.

If you are in need, I can return to the forest and lead you back to the village. I have seen no one by the name of Merlin, however.

Some directions will suffice. Although, if you are familiar with the area, perhaps you can tell me where one might find an area with caves. I'm currently looking for someone.

I am not intimately familiar, but I can say that there are no caves in this area. The land would not support it.

But directions require a point of orientation. If you see marks in the trees, they will either lead you deeper into the forest, or to Streamdrab. They are fresh, however, and should still bleed sap.

None at all? Perhaps there might be some in the bordering areas?

Hold on.

[ and he's back a few minutes later after running around trying to find such markings. his voice is a bit strained, almost like doing that put him in some kind of pain ]

I have seen a clearing not too far off. I do not see the village yet, but the markings you spoke of were there. If they veer off towards the [ whatever direction ] is that the path I should follow?

Yes. Are you armed, as well? The creatures of the forest are not likely to attack, but you should not let your guard down, either. But the path is direct and mostly straight. You should come to the village within thirty minutes.

...And are you well? You sound in pain.

I have my sword. What sort of creatures are we talking about here? I take it they are not of the harmless deer variety.

[ breaaathe ] It's nothing more than a scratch.

A sword, provided you are trained, will prove more than enough. The kind you will likely encounter are jackal like, and fear fire. Brandish your sword and they likely will not attack.

[Concerned] ...From what, if I may ask? Something from your home, or something here?

I assure you I am trained to the highest degree. And I have fought many a creature before. But, thank you, for your help.

[ pause ] It was something from home. I was injured in a battle, of sorts.

Then I wish you luck, though I hope you are not in need of it.

I see. There are doctors amongst our members, as I understand, if you are in need of assistance. I am also able to administer basic first aid.

Thank you. I don't think I caught your name?

If you or a physician are able to re-dress the wound, that will be suitable. My servant was helping me earlier, but he seems to have vanished from sight.

I am Princess Diana of Theymscira. And you?

Redressing the wound is simple enough. Though...your servant likely did not come with you.

You're a princess? [ well that was unexpected. He briefly wonders if he should say his true name but if it's still Cenred's kingdom, he's a dead man. ] My name is, uhm, Lancelot. Whereabouts is your kingdom? It does not sound like any that Camelot has made treaties with.

What do you mean?

My kingdom is not in this world, nor will you find your Camelot, Sir Lancelot. Theymscira is not my kingdom--we do not have such notions, in honesty. But it has been hidden from mankind for many centuries. We were an island of women hidden in the sea away from the rest of mankind.

I mean that people seem to...randomly come and go, for lack of a more apt description.

This world? What other world could it possibly be on?

Randomly come and go. You mean, to this village of Steamdrab?

It is...complicated. It is on Earth, but if it is the same Earth as your own, then I am from far after you, assuming you are the knight of Camelot. I come from the year 2008.

To wherever the Caravan may be, oddly, as if it were the center of the summoning. The previous place we had stopped was a castle, and our new travelers found themselves in its dungeon.
