Detective.

If you believe that the number of caravan inhabitants is decreasing, do you not think that is cause for investigation?

Oh, hey there, Mr. Edgeworth!

You really think it's that big of a deal? Maybe they're just hiding out somewhere. This is a pretty massive place, y'know.

[ well, at least he addressed him properly. ]

Nonetheless, it is possible something may have happened to them--especially considering the...difficulties at the time of the caravan's departure.

Anyone in particular that you're missing? I only noticed because I tried to contact the guy who opened that bar. It'd help if I knew who to look for.

..frankly I'm surprised anyone's been able to notice missing people.

Is someone you know gone?

Yeah, I just checked. A kid named Yosuke Hanamura from my hometown's been gone for a few hours now, at least.

-- Not that I've been keeping track of him - I ran into one of his friends and he mentioned that the kid was missing.

One kid missing isn't worth raising too much of a fuss over, chances are he's lingering around the caravan. It's bigger than it looks.

...though if there's more than just one kid or if it's been a while since he was last seen, that might be reason enough to be suspicious.

You won't hear me fussing.

[ oops did he just say that ]

But like I said, I think other people have gone missing too. You haven't noticed how quiet it's been?

Haven't been paying attention...? Man, isn't that your job?

[ come on, even kanji has noticed the disappearance of some individuals around here. ]

It's not technically my job while I'm here, you know.

O-oh. Well...I'd think with bein' a detective and all, it would come second-nature to you.

If detective work came naturally, I wouldn't have had to go to police academy.

There aren't that many places for people to have gone missing to, is the problem.

I can't imagine most people doing something as ill-advised as disembarking while we're trying to travel.

That's what I was thinking. Hanamura's gone missing but I don't think he's really the type to jump out the window, you know?

[ unless he saw his ugly senpai walking next to the caravan, then maybe. ]

It makes sense to assume that if we vanished from our homes with no explanation, then we can vanish from here in the same way.

That's about what I was thinking. The problem with that, of course, being that if people are disappearing the same way we came here, we have no way of properly verifying if that's what really happened to them.

It seems the giant has eaten them.

Whoa, really? You're kidding, right?

[ he wouldn't be surprised if the giant ate people, but come on, who would eat yosuke? he must taste like tears and hatred. ]

'Tis certainly a possibility. Unless they simply left the caravan, which would surmount to being eaten by any other creature in the wilderness. In the end, I do believe our friends have become delicacies.

I dunno. Like you said, that would require leaving the caravan...and I don't think they're quite that dumb. We haven't even been here long enough to get fed up.
