You know what I like the most about this Caravan?

The stairs. Stairs are great. Stairs are convenient. Stairs usually mean that walkways and bridges are still around and haven't... rotted away or been eaten or something.

Walkways and bridges are great, too. You ever tried to get around without either of those things? It's a tricky business. Lots of ( Read more... )

You know, I am inclined to agree with you. But I must admit, the thing I miss the least...is the Darkspawn. As nice as it would have been to ride an ogre across Ferelden--and relaxing--it would have mattered very little when our mount was brutally slaughtered by Darkspawn bent on our destruction. [ a fond sigh. ] Ah, those were the days...

Is this Darkspawn anything like Corruption? Dark, gooey, just as likely to murder you with its smell as well as monsters sprouting out of nowhere?

[ a pause. ]

Are you from Ferelden, then? You seem to know its troubles well.

Never heard of the place. Ever visited Persia?

[ very cheerfully. ] No, I cannot say that I have! [ another pause; somewhat more thoughtfully. ] Nor have I heard of it, for that matter. I thought, since you described the Darkspawn so accurately... But it would seem that was no more than a coincidence.

Coincidence or not, "Darkspawn" is a pretty good description for Corruption.

-- and let's both hope that neither of those things show up. I could use a break from things trying to kill me.

Corruption is another word for it, where I am from...

But I must admit, there has been a considerable drop in attacks on my life since I arrived here, it is true. A man could get used to this relaxation, yes?

See, relaxing is the sensible thing to do when you start thinking back on when you were chased by crazed mobs and say, "those were the good days". Climbing a giant's backback? Not so sensible.

[ a slight spark of interest. ]

Chased by crazed mobs, you say? Now this story has promise!

I think you mean stories. It's happened more than once. People get so picky over what counts as a souvenir and what doesn't...

Oh, of course; sticky fingers. I understand completely, and you need say no more.

...

Unless of course these stories have pretty women in them, in which case...please do go on.

Hey, if the lady wants to give me something to remember her by, who am I to turn her down?

This is a very clever philosophy. How can I possibly argue with it?

See, her father didn't think that way. ...neither did the mob.

Well, without a little chasing, a little running for your life, a few death threats from the family...where's the fun in it? Ah, how I love a good romance!

That kind of entertainment never gets old, once you're looking back on it.
