Miss Shirakawa's brought something up to me, and I think the idea has merit.

I know there are quite a few of us here who already know how to fight. I also know there are some who don't, and while ideally, the Defense Force should be able to keep everyone safe, having some basic self-defense training available for anyone interested certainly couldn ( Read more... )

I'm thinking more along the lines of hand-to-hand, anyway. Maybe some melee weapons, in the "how to use anything you can grab to do some damage and get the hell out of there" sense.

Firearms would be a nightmare with as limited of resources as we have in a place like this.

Frankly, after some of the commanders I've worked with over the past five decades, one can never be too sure.
