I apologize for the rather violent way we had to turn you, and for the painful experiences since then. I hope, though, that you find your settlement in our caverns most agreeable. You are free to come and go - but I assure you that no hume will accept you. Should you return to Fort Hood and lose yourself to the Luna, you will be killed on sight.
Humes are rather intolerant.
Especially the old hags and lumberjacks.
The caverns are not optimal living spaces, I realize, but there is not much else I can provide other than shelter and food. Humes have driven our kind further and further into the forests as they cut down our trees and burden our soils with their metals. We are on the brink of extinction, and can no longer afford to sit idle.
You are welcome to join us in our plight - our battle against the humes is imminent in our future.
You have no where else to go.
You are family, now.
We shall teach you to control your anger, to become accustomed to your new forms. We will feed you and we will clothe you. We will test you.
All we ask, in turn, is that you help us take back Fort Hood, and return it to its original nature.
