Finally.

[ Amy stretches her arms above her head and then ruffles the back of her hair. She is finally back to her proper, lovely tall height. ]

Can we stop doing the changing thing? First it was getting fish tails, and then it was shrinking down until we were wee little things. I feel like I need to do something so not kid-ish - get a pint of ( Read more... )

I didn't hear about the fish tails. What did you mean with the fish tails?

At the last stop, we all ended up turning into merpeople, you know with like... actual fish tails. It was cool at fir-

That'd be me, yes. I'm supposing you're Amy? It's a pleasure to finally meet you properly.

Yep, that's me. What gave it away? [ Honestly, her accent and hair were such dead giveaways. But she smiles all big and grown-up like. ] I know. You're very, ehm, different now though.

The way you speak, really. It's distinctive. [And he's smiling too, in his own way.] And yes, I'm taller now. Possibly heavier.

Can't say I missed being so small.

The accent, it does that. Never could get rid of it, really. [ Oh yes, Amy notices. See how she notices. ] You were a cute little boy, but I'm finding I like you this way better, to be honest.

I definitely did not miss being seven again.

[Oh, Amy.] The sentiment is mutual, love, I find I prefer your adult version more. So who's this Bowtie Man of yours?

We agree then. Good. Hopefully we'll stay this way, yeah? [ a pause. ] Oh. Just the guy I travel with back home. He's supposed to be around here, but I haven't seen him in a while. Hopefully he didn't get left behind, especially since he can't stand to see children cry.

I'm fairly certain it will.

Are you both companions with this traveling thing, then? Like, hm. A road trip of sorts? You both must be very close.

The Caravan? Oh, no. We travel in something else much different back home. More of like a... space and time, er, trip. [ Here's a 'don't think I'm crazy' smile. ] Yeah, we are.

[He knows that smile. He's made a few of those himself.]

Right. Er. Not that I don't believe you, but that's a pretty unusual sort of... traveling.

How did that happen?

Yeah, it's not exactly normal, but nothing's normal when you're with the Doctor.

And how did what happen? Me travelling or me being close with the Doctor? Even though that's sort of the same question, really.

Answer it however you want, really - it seems like it's a personal question, come to think of it.

It would be good if you had friends here on this caravan, though, yes - I've found one of mine by happenstance. Or he found me, technically.

I don't mind the personal questions. Most of the time. Sometimes. [ another smile and a shrug. ] It's a really long story. But it happened when I was a little girl. He crashed into my backyard, fixed a crack in my wall and then left. He didn't come back for twelve years. Took off again for another two before he finally asked me to go with him. Now I travel all over with him.

Except now we're sort of limited here. Until we can get home.

[ perks up. ] Right. Arthur, yeah?

Yes, Arthur, that stick in the mud. You've met before? [He's all amused.] Seems like he's made an impression in these parts.

A long story that's pretty much a history - it sounds incredibly romantic.
