for Kon

Dec 26, 2010 22:12

It had been a nice day for Alcuin; he had spent it in the warm comfort of the rec room in the Compound, curled up on the couch reading a book about the French revolution as he sipped on tea until it grew cold. He was leaving now only to get a fresh cup, and was hardly paying attention to the others coming and going in the room ( Read more... )

Kon had felt like this a few times before and it had never boded well. Especially when it was on this island and things like that didn't happen. Except when they did and it was the island's fault. He didn't want it to be the island's fault. That just meant that some cruel trick was right around the corner. That trick revealed himself when he saw the young man next to him. Very up close next to him.

Oh great.

He moved left - or tried to - and tried moving right. Neither seemed to work and he sighed. "I don't suppose you know how to get out?"

Alcuin let his eyes drift up to the mistletoe. "My intuition tells me," he said quietly, "that kissing might do the trick."

"Uhh…" No. No way. Come on. That couldn't possibly… Could it? But of course it could. It was the island and it delighted in making his life a living hell. "Are you sure?"

"No, I'm not," said Alcuin, "though it is easy enough to find out." He looked at the man for a moment - which honestly was difficult because they were standing so close. But finally, he realized. "You're a friend of Wallace's." He actually thought he might be the friend of Wallace's, but he didn't say that.

"Uh, sure? I guess? I mean, I know him and everything." The question that caught Kon was how this guy knew who he was. It wasn't like Wallace talked about him or anything. Was it? No. Couldn't be. Except that it seemed to be. Weird.

"I'm Kon. I'd shake your hand, but, uh...kinda hard to."

Kon. Yes, he was the friend. The one who was tying Wallace up in knots. Though somehow Alcuin thought that this was not the time to offer to give the young man a philosophical lesson in 'love as thou wilt.'

"Wallace lives with me," he said, by way of explanation. "I'm Alcuin."

Kon's mouth opened, but he didn't say anything. Oh. Oh, so this was the roommate and he had to...oh. Crap. No way. No way was he really going to have to...except it looked like he did.

"Uhh. I...damn I hate this island."

"We could wait," Alcuin said politely. "I am not entirely certain that we have to kiss each other to escape." He paused, and then added, "Mayhap Wallace will come by."

"What?" Kon asked loudly. "No, no, no. Wallace…no." No, he could just picture the face that Wallace would get if he saw this. He could picture it all too well and he wasn't sure he wanted to hear whatever the dry comment would be. He squeezed his eyes shut. "Just...get it over with fast."

It would have to be whatever he was to Wallace. Boyfriend or l...l...nope. He couldn't even think the word

Fast. Well. Alcuin at least refrained from expressing his opinion that Kon was... missing out. He was a very good kisser, after all.

"As you wish," he said softly, and looked for a moment at Kon's closed eyes before leaning in and brushing his lips softly against his. When he did not feel the magic around them dissipate immediately upon that touch, he let the kiss linger - soft and pliant but not pushing. It was the way one might start a kiss but not continue one. Though if Kon made any move at all toward continuing it, Alcuin wouldn't mind.

Kon gasped into the kiss. It wasn't like he'd never kissed another guy before. There had been Bart, of course, and Wallace and...and that was pretty much it. But this was different and definitely not quick. He'd expecting a peck on the lips and he'd be gone. He hesitated, not sure if he needed or wanted to continue or whether he should flee into the wind.
