No... wait.... its a week already? Damn...

Okay... progress? Have I had progress? Why, yes, I have... a little... ;-)

Alright! I'm sick, it was Thanksgiving, my Cousin, Aunt and Uncle came in... and the dog eat it... and there was this terrible head wind all week.

Right. BS... I'm aware. Here's what have I done in the realm of the universal character and my actual story.

Well, I've made the character ready for Motion Builder. You guys don't know what that means, so I'll explain. MB is a program that allows you to take a character created with Lightwave (my fav program) and allow it to be distorted with a skeleton. The "bones" in this "skeleton" let me, the artist, to move the character basically like a Ray Harryhausen puppet. MB is used because, basically, it is wicked fast and once added the characters move easily. This could be done with Lightwave, but there are limitations. Not that MB has no limits itself. But it was for a while looking like that was going to be the winner in the bones department.

Now, I'm looking at Project:Messiah. Suffice it to say that p:M does about 90-95% of what I want it to do, and applies it to all the major 3D programs. It does some cool things that you could only do by programming a character rig with Maya's MEL script language. I need to find out if there some different things that it can do, but I might switch to p:M in the middle of this process.

I put together a first pass at the story this morning. Pretty good, if I do say so myself. I'm doing a pass like how the action will flow, how the individual shots will look, stuff like that.

So what I'm trying to do is to say here are the two main characters of this piece. They have a ship, they have a robot, and they get into adventures... and a lot of robotic ninjas attack them at random intervals. Hmmm... I think, gun toting robotic ninjas... the worst kind.

So, I find myself in the unenviable position that while I'm doing this, I have no one to tell me I'm doing wrong. Also, since no one has done this before, I have no one to get advice from... yeah...

That's progress.
