Kate in Sherwood IV

Feb 04, 2009 19:33

Tuck walks Kate through the gate of Nottingham with his hood down and smiling and greeting everyone.

The market is bustling today so they can slip in easily and are barely given a second look as Kate's outfit is simple and of about the same quality of many of the women there.

Kate smiled, but was also taking cues from how the other women were behaving. She didn't want to stick out, and being modern would be a sure sign of it.

"So far so good," she murmured to Tuck.

"Now if ye look, will see Marian with 'er nurse an friend, Elsbeth. Best to keep things simple as ye 'pproach 'er as I'll be doin' some barterin' an gossipin'."

He points through the crowd to where Marian is at a booth speaking to an older woman and the young woman with a baby on her hip who's selling simple iron, silver and bronze work.

Kate spied, and then nodded to him, "I will, thank you."

She carefully slipped through the crowd, and admired a piece of bronze.

"Lovely work isn't it?" She remarked seemingly in passing.

The mother smiles at her as nurse and Marian give her a small glance and the nurse answers giving Kate a bit of a wink, she remembers her from Christmas,

"Oh aye, lovey, finest in all o'Nottingham. 'rhaps ye're lookin' for somethin', dear?"

Marian smiles and laughs, taking Kate's hand to give it a quick squeeze,

"Perhaps this lovely leaf, dear. It almost looks like Sherwood."
