The system in which the NBA selects there All-Stars is similar to the College BCS, complete shit.
EASTERN CONFERENCE
F - Vince Carter, Toronto
F - Jermaine O’Neal, Indiana
C - Ben Wallace, Detroit
G - Allen Iverson, Philadelphia
G - Tracy McGrady, Orlando
Coach: Rick Carlisle, Indiana
First of all, Lets take a look at the Eastern Conference. Vince Carter collected the most votes out of any other NBA player. VINCE CARTER, the man that has been off and on injured the whole season and whos team is below .500 for the year, a man who isn't even the most productive person on the team. Then we scroll down to Allen Iverson. Undoubtedly one of the better guards in the league, but not this season. Another player whos team isn't over .500 and who has also been on IR off and on again this season. And last we have TMac. I don't how you're team can't win 15 out of 45 and you be voted as an All-Star. A true All-Star could win about 17-20 by himself. Jermaine O'Neal is having an amazing season and is where he deserves to be, but Ben Wallace is kind of a toss up. Whatever you say about Wallace can be said about Jamaal Magloire of the Hornets. Im not unhappy about that pick, just think it could have went either way. Aside from O'Neal and Wallace, the other three have no business starting in this game. This conference alone should be reason enough to not have fans vote the allstars.
WESTERN CONFERENCE
F - Tim Duncan, San Antonio
F - Kevin Garnett, Minnesota
C - Yao Ming, Houston
G - Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
G - Steve Francis, Houston
Coach: Flip Saunders, Minnesota
Western Conference. Tim Duncan and KG are two of the four leading candidates for MVP so I obviously have no problem with there spots. Now Yao, Kobe, and Steve are a different story. I don't know how the hell this happened. It seriously makes me mad thinking about how they get elected to this team when there seasons have been so mediocre and others continue to soar. There are so many other ppl, counting a person that is having an amazing MVP like season, that should have been picked over these three. Heres what should have been the starting lineups for these teams.
EASTERN Conference
F - Paul Pierce, Boston
F - Jermaine O’Neal, Indiana
C - Ben Wallace, Detroit
G - Allan Houston, New York
G - Michael Redd, Milwaukee
WESTERN CONFERENCE
F - Peja Stojakovic, Sacramento
F - Kevin Garnett, Minnesota
C - Tim Duncan, San Antonio
G - Matt Harpring, Utah
G - Sam Cassell, Minnesota
There you have it, what should be the starting squads for the this years All-Star game. Since they let the fans vote instead of the GM's back in the 1980's, it's been down hill. The All-Star game used to be about recognizing the players that are leading there teams to victory, the stand out performers for each position. Now all it is is a popularity contest where you have a man accused of rap, and someone that does not speak english representing there conference. Dammit NBA, why don't you make me the commissioner!?
