monthly update
- AX was pretty sweet, especially since I spent the entire time with THE COOLEST LOSERS I KNOW, best roommates ever. Finally got so drunk I puked and passed out, but woke up feeling perfectly fine, wtf. Got some good Henry & Tatami Galaxy pics, got the usual ignorance treatment with Narumi & Banker, and had a fun Gundam gathering with Jon AKA Tomato Mask AKA DAT RAIDOU. Also got to play killer7, which is always fun, and threatened with violence got some help in planning my cosplay dream of a full Killer7 group at ALA. HARMAN SMITH FINALLY.
- Bought a 12mbps DSL connection with AT&T, but of course I have to experience the worst service one would expect from AT&T. I was forced to order the service via telephone, then forced to call an obscure AT&T line because my grandmother's a retiree and her line is SPESHUL. I had to go through 45 minutes of information exchanging and the usual shit, then when they asked if I wanted to pay $150 for a technician installation or personal installation, I was forced to shell out the cash because AT&T prevented the rep from selecting personal installation. Hell yeah, being forced to pay ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS for a task I've done 4 times already. The best part was that I had to wait a full ten days before the technician would come over to install it, which turned out to be the longest week and a half of the year. When he finally installed it, it turned out that the phone rep had input the wrong address, which meant that it'd take up to 10 days for the company to authorize DSL on my phone line, I paid $150 for even LESS work than I expected, and I had to wait even LONGER. Thankfully, my phone line got DSL the next day, but then I learned a painful truth: apparently I have to wait 10 days before my line reaches its maximum speed. It's been 7 days since then, and I have a 250kbps DSL connection. I'm paying for 12mbps. AT&T has three more days before I end up firebombing the nearest store or something.
- Rearranged my room. Took about 4 days and 10 garbage bags full of junk. I still have stuff to clean, and it looks like I'm using my sleeping bag tonight since there's a pile of crap that found its way BACK onto my bed. I also lost my 3DS somehow and it's been a week since I last saw it.
- Grandmother has another ulcer which requires surgery + chemo to get rid of. She's been taking out the resulting stress on me this week, which in turn shits up my mood really badly. I can also tell that my blood levels are low, which means another blood transfusion is in my immediate future. Sometimes when I'm really depressed I worry that I won't make it to my 35th birthday. If I keep treating my body like shit, that may come to pass. Fuck.
- Everyone needs to play NIER, or at least listen to the soundtrack. One of the most emotional games I've played this generation, and it's woefully unloved. Everyone also needs to play Shadows of the Damned because it's RE5 making love to a roadhouse horror movie with dick jokes everywhere.
- I have a Google+ account. I think EVERYONE has one now.
