[ The first thing one might notice following the activation of the video feed is the Cyndaquil standing in front of the PokeGear. It seems rather content to wave a stubby arm at the oh so very interesting flashing red light on the device. Standing behind and off to one side of the Cyndaquil with a good few feet between them is a girl with red hair

[ Kristoph laugsh softly and smiles to the camera. ]

It's quite refreshing to see someone with such enthusiasm and energy. Though you might want to pay a little more attention to your PokeGear, Miss.

[ Pulling her Cyndaquil away from the backpack it seems so intent upon diving into and into her arms, Hikaru smiles at the camera in turn and gives the fire mouse an affectionate little squeeze. ]

Sorry about that, Mister. I didn't realize it was recording and then this little fella went and got all excited.

[ She gives her Pokemon another little affectionate squeeze, her smile widening. ]

I'll be sure to pay more attention to my PokeGear in the future!

No harm was done so there's no need to apologise. It's not unusual for something like that to happen with the technology around here. [ And it always reminds Kristoph to be extra careful with his PokeGear. There are things he'd rather not have broadcasted. ]

[ Kristoph smiles to the heartwarming scene of a girl and her Cyndaquil. ] I see that you're already bonding with your new partner. An interesting creature. I haven't seen a Pokemon somewhat resembling an echidna before.

[ Hikaru pauses and holds her Pokemon out to take a good look at it -- no, him. Definitely a him. But wait, an echidna, that's -- ]

You mean like an anteater?

[ Still holding her Pokemon at arms' length, she looks back to the camera with an inquisitive expression upon her face. An anteater? Really? ]

You could call them very distant relatives. Echidnas are called spiny anteaters but they are smaller and rounder in shape than regular anteaters. Also as the name implies they have spines similar to hedgehogs, even though your creature doesn't appear to share that trait. [ If he only knew that Cyndaquils had fire instead of spines. ]

[ No sooner than Hikaru says this does her Cyndaquil's back burst into flames. If that didn't get her attention, the very loud accompanying exclamation of "quil" certainly did. Someone does not appreciate being held at arm's length like this. ]

Are you alright, Miss? You didn't get burned by the flames, did you?

[ Hikaru scratches the back of her head and smiles easy despite that that was a potentially dangerous situation. It wasn't Cyndaquil's fault, after all. ]

I'm okay! I'm okay. He didn't burn me. He just doesn't like being held like that, that's all!

[ A quil sounds in agreement from below the PokeGear. ]

That's a relief to hear. I'd hate see a lovely young lady as yourself get hurt in such a way. [ Kristoph smiles kindly to the camera. ]

In any case I suggest you to handle your new friend with care. It appears to sport quite a fiery nature.
