It's the finals countdown

So I started writing a post ALMOST TWO WEEKS AGO and never finished. I don't know when I got so awful at updating. I guess it's a combination of being busy with school, feeling like my updates are boring because I don't do much besides go to school and watch TV (and not even interesting TV, it's mostly Cartoon Network and Disney Channel), and feeling awkward talking about how my life is going pretty well when a lot of people on my friends list are having tough times. :/

(And on that note, if you have some emotionally troubled post and I don't comment on it, it's not because I'm ignoring you or being unsympathetic, it's just that I have no idea what to say. Like I said, my life has always been pretty good, so most of the problems people have are things I've never experienced and I'm just at a loss for words. Or I feel lame writing "feel better soon, hugs!" for the eighth time in a row because everyone that commented ahead of me could only think of that too.)

Anyway, it's finals week here at Lindenwood. I had my graphics class final this morning, which was just presenting my last branding project. Later today I have to finish editing my mockumentary for Video class and write a reflection of the other video I made for Cinema Arts class, which my partners have hopefully finished editing. I have those finals tomorrow, along with the end-of-the-year APO banquet. Kim and I decided to give each person an individual award, so we have to come up with the rest of those and then I stick them on the certificate and slideshow presentation templates from last semester. I also have to finish the scrapbook. I'm terribly behind on it, I still have to make all the pages for last semester. I haven't even started on this semester, I'll probably have to do that over winter break. I also have to to write my honors paper before my Modern Drama final on Wednesday. Thankfully it's not too hard, just an overview (plot, characters, dramatic structure, etc.) for a play called The Nerd, one of my favorites from high school. After Wednesday, it's fairly smooth sailing. I just have to study for my Astronomy final on Friday and pack up the things in my dorm.

Classes have been good lately. We watched an episode of Star Trek TOS in my Astronomy class one day, and The Importance of Being Earnest in Modern Drama (and Waiting for Godot, which was considerably less fun), and we just finished presentations in Cinema Arts for what we consider to be The Greatest Movie Ever Made. There was a pretty good variety from that class: Forrest Gump, The Patriot, The Dark Knight, The Lion King (twice! it's a running joke with our professor because he's never seen it before), Back to the Future, Stardust Memories, Metropolis, Spirited Away. I did mine on Toy Story. I checked out a book from my library called The Pixar Touch, a really detailed history of the company's founding and the progression of computer animation up through Wall-E. It was fascinating, I had a hard time putting it down.

I haven't been up to much outside of school. Thanksgiving was nice, just a quiet meal at my aunt's house. I worked Black Friday and the Saturday after, and officially start back at work for the holiday season this weekend. I started watching Avatar: The Last Airbender with Sam because she has all the DVDs, and I'm going through the My Little Pony episodes she put on my computer. (I started Evangelion and Merlin at the beginning of the semester, I still have to finish those too.) APO had its elections for next semester's offices and I'm VP of Fellowship now. I'd been Historian for three semesters, and I enjoyed it, but it's nice to try another position. I'm in charge of organizing fun group activities. I'm planning on a lot of movie nights and trips to restaurants and maybe we'll go putt-putt golfing in the cool glow-in-the-dark course at the mall.

avatar, finals, apo, mel needs to post more, write them papers, my little pony, movies
