Part 1

I went to the Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows double-feature with Annie and Ashley last night. Ashley had on her Ravenclaw shirt and was carrying the "stick with sparkly nail polish on it" wand I made for her, and I was wearing the Harry Potter charm necklace I made for the occasion, but none of us were dressed up besides that. A lot of other people were, though, I saw a lot of school uniforms, and a lot of HP shirts too. (There was a family of a mom and a younger son and daughter that had homemade shirts. The girl's was neon pink with a Slytherin logo and the boy's was neon green and had "Ron!" written on the back of it.)

We got to the theater at 6:00, and there were about fifteen people ahead of us in line for our showing. The man at the front of the line had been there since 9:00 in the morning, and he apparently spent the day re-watching all the movies on his laptop, which was propped up on cardboard boxes in front of his camping chair. He wasn't dressed up, but he was carrying the Lucius Malfoy pimp cane. Ashley had stuffed a bunch of snacks into her bag, but we didn't want to spend the night eating Cheezits and expensive theater food, so she and I ran out to the Sonic. We came back to eat it in the line (everyone had smuggled food in), discovered they'd forgotten my chicken strips, so Annie and I went to get them and finally came back and settled in. We were in the line for about another hour. We chatted with some people around us and drew in Ashley's giant Harry Potter coloring book.

We got into the theater at about 8:15, and claimed some pretty great seats, third row from the top center. I got a soda, and we sat and chatted until Part 1 began. I hadn't seen it since I saw it in theaters, so it was a good refresher course. I really enjoyed Part 1, I thought it did the dark and tense atmosphere very well, but still had some humor to it. And I've always loved that dancing scene. I take at as a friend's attempt to cheer up another friend, and it's sweet that way. And that song is absolutely fantastic.

That movie ended at 11:20, so we had forty minutes to sit and wait for Part 2.
