Drove. Went to the Hi-Pointe theater. Mailed a package to another country.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't even remember what my resolution was. I think for next year I want to eat healthier, dress better, and improve my general taste in entertainment.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My library supervisor has probably had her baby already. I can't wait until she brings it into work for a visit!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank goodness.

THIS ONE. I didn't travel farther than my grandparents' house two and a half hours away from here.

A job, a car, clearer skin, and a webcam to chat with my internet friends.

7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

9. What was your biggest failure?

I had a few colds and one bout of stomach flu. And my blood pressure has been giving me trouble lately. But I'm fine overall.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
The Venture Brothers DVDs, two new dresses, this huge coffee table picture book all about The X-Files.

Haters.

14. Where did most of your money go?

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Driving

ONLY WITH TV SHOWS AND CLOTHING ITEMS AND MY NEW BANGS.

23. How many one-night stands?
None

24. What was your favourite TV program?
THE VENTURE BROTHERS. I haven't been this in love with a TV show in a long time. I highly suggest checking it out, especially if you're a cartoon nerd like me. Start at the beginning, though - the show gets ten times better once you know all the backstory.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope.

26. What was the best book you read?
The White Road by Lynn Flewelling. I will always love Nightrunner books.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I mostly listened to my dad's old Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin CDs. But I did just buy the song "Moneygrabber" by Fitz and the Tantrums after only hearing it once. So catchy. I can see myself buying the rest of the album once I get the money.

28. What did you want and get?
DVDs and clothes

29. What did you want and not get?

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
I enjoyed most of the movies I saw: Up in the Air, Kick Ass, Scott Pilgrim, Inception, Toy Story 3, How to Train Your Dragon. My favorite might actually be Megamind, though, because I walked out of it knowing that I wanted to buy the DVD as soon as it came out.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned twenty, and I just went to Chimmichanga's with my family. Nothing special.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
No Bio lab.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Nice on top, lazy on bottom. I can wear blouses and jewelry and makeup, but below that it's just generic jeans and sneakers.

The FFA and cartoons.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010.
Creepypasta is bad for you.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"I can't concentrate on anything but reruns."

1: What fandoms did you acquire in 2010?
I am addicted to The Venture Bros, newsflash. I also love Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated and Phineas and Ferb. I got back into watching Pokemon. I discovered that The Nanny and Saved By The Bell are pretty terrific shows. And Modern Family too.

2: What fandoms did you let go of in 2010?
I'll always love Lost, but the show is over now.

3: What fandoms did you mean to get into but didn't in 2010? Why?
I still haven't continued Buffy. I've been meaning to watch more Mad Men beyond the pilot. And I keep hearing good things about Community.

4: What fandoms do you intend on checking out in 2011?
I love my cartoons and cheesy sitcoms, but I want to expand beyond them to some of the really strong dramas on TV right now.

5: What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2011 unless things significantly improve?
I'm over Glee now that it's not all shiny and new. I still watch it, and I'm invested enough to not give up on it, but I'm okay with missing episodes and just watching the show when I can get to it.

6: What fandoms do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get?
Pokemon. It's weak and shallow and tired, but I will always pop in every once and a while to see if they've finally starting having character development and timeline continuity.

7: What show impressed you most in 2010?
I was really surprised by Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. It's not enough lame reboot - I think it's actually the best incarnation the series has ever had. It gives the characters real depth and motivation and flaws (for once, Scooby does more than just eat and run away from ghosts). The art and lighting is great to look at. Sometimes the episodes are genuinely scary. And it has a true sense of mystery to it - it's almost on the level of any mythology-centric serial drama.

8: What show impressed you least in 2010?
I don't know. I'm honestly not that hard to impress.

1.) Where did you begin 2007?
Ian's basement.

2.) What was your status on Valentine's Day?
Single. Probably watching Nanny reruns.

3.) Were you in school (anytime this year)?
Good old Lindenwood

4.) How did you earn your money?
I worked in the university library, but that just covered the cost of my dorm. Most of my spending money is whatever I can con out of mom and dad.

5.) Did you have to go to the hospital?
No

6.) Did you have any encounters with the police?
No

7.) Where did you go on vacation?
I didn't. Just weekend trips to the grandparents' farm.

Just tuition.

9.) Did you know anybody who got married?
Tubby Tom and Kristen. They got married spur of the moment the night after MMOSH, in Purple David's house while his parents were out of town. Bobby Sanders officiated. The snake was there. Someone ordered a sheet cake with "Great Job!" written on it.

10.) Did you know anybody who passed away?
No

11.) Was anyone born?
Maybe? My library supervisor was expecting a baby over winter break.

I had Chimmichanga's for dinner, bought myself Venture Bros season two, and enjoyed all the FFA messages.

14.) What concerts/shows did you go to?
No concerts, but I did see a few plays. Life of Galileo, Little Shop of Horrors, and Barefoot in the Park at West. Beauty and the Beast and Footloose at the Muny. You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown at Crestwood. Suessical the Musical at Maryland Heights. You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Anything Goes, and one acts at Lindenwood.

Write some poetry I'm actually proud of.

20.) What has been your favorite moment?
MMOSH IX and Tom's homecoming party were both pretty memorable.

21.) What's something you learned about yourself?
I'm very mellow about everything, especially compared to the rest of the internet. Most people's emotions go up to BLINDING RAGE, but mine stops at RESTPECTFUL DISAPPROVAL.

22.) Any new additions to your family?
My cousin's son Reedyn. He was born last year, but we didn't meet him until this year because of baby mama drama.

23.) What was your worst month?
I don't think I had one. I was really busy with school work in November?

Every Akoo song that drove itself into my head during my long hours working in the cafeteria.

25.) Who has been your best drinking buddy?
Lol, no one.

26.) Made new friends?
All of my wonderful FFA family.

27.) Made a New best friend?
No, I still have my Sami.

28.) Favorite Night out?
Every night, I guess. I'm just glad to leave the house with people besides my family.

I have some pretty fond memories of July and August.

Question 31 is dead.

32.) Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
Dorm.

33.) Change your hairstyle?
Just this week, actually. I have cute bangs and now my hair only reaches my shoulder blades, not my butt. I haven't had it that short in a decade, but it is nice that it dries quicker and is easier to take care of.

34.) Have any car accidents?
Nothing serious, just learning-to-drive awkwardness.

35.) How old did you turn this year?
20

36.) Did you have a New Year's resolution?
I think it was "be more badass". Not sure if I lived up to that.

Every time I have to tell someone that I don't know how to drive yet.

38.) Buy anything new from eBay?
I think I got one of my textbooks from Ebay.

39.) Get married?
No

40.) Get arrested?
No

41.) Be honest - did you watch American Idol?
No

42.) Did you get sick this year?
I had a stomach flu one weekend in April.

43.) Been snowboarding?
No.

44.) Are you happy to see 2010 go?
Not necessarily happy, but I am looking forward to changing things up in 2011.

45.) Been naughty or nice?
Nice, as always.

Basically, this was the year of FFA and Venture Bros. But I did other things, too. I was secretary and historian for APO, and probably did close to 50 service hours. I made 50 Writing Wednesdays, and a 30 day writing meme. I doodled a lot, on paper and in MS Paint. I'm eating healthier, exercising more, and I've lost some weight. I changed my hair for the first time in a decade. I stuck it through to the series finale of Lost. I hit my five year LiveJournal anniversary. My social life is stronger. I got my permit and have had a few driving lessons. I'm not where other people my age are, but my life is good. I do good things. I have good friends. And I know I can make next year even better.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

i do adult things sometimes, have i told you i love venture bros, ffa is my life now, life is pretty great, new years, meme
