Writing Wednesday: Chuck vs. Chuck

Nov 03, 2010 23:14

We do a lot of group projects for my Group Dynamics class, hence the name, and our new assignment is to present a movie pitch. We write a summary, cast the actors, pick a writer and director, find a location, add up the budget, and so on. (All hypothetical, of course.) All of us threw in plot elements, but I got the main writing job. Here's what I have so far:

CHUCK VS. CHUCK: An action comedy film
An mad scientist's search for the next big evil scheme turns into a search on Ebay, where he stumbles upon the treasure of treasures: a beard hair from the legendary actor/warrior Chuck Norris. With the help of his sidekick, he builds a cloning machine and makes an evil Chuck Norris copy. A double agent hidden in the scientist's compound sends word to the government, who sends word to the original Chuck Norris. With the unwanted aid of an eager young FBI agent, Chuck Norris travels sets out to stop his clone the only way he can: with his fists. And his legs. And his beard.
Starring Will Ferrel and John C. Riley as the scientists, Emma Watson as the FBI Agent, and Chuck Norris as himself. The double agent and other minor parts yet to be cast.

I'm not sure of how much detail to put in - if it's too much, my teammates won't have much to add; if it's too little, that's a lot of work we have to fit into our last work day. I think I'll do basic elements (we need this type of a character, set somewhere in this region, and maybe the evil plot is like this, etc.) and we can fill in the gaps together.

Does this sound like a fun idea? You guys have any suggestions?
