Come on, you whole wheat sack

I move back to school in TWO WEEKS, you guys. I'm excited to see my new dorm and start classes and my library job and get back into APO, but it'll still be the end of summer. I need to use these next two weeks as wisely as possible.

Last week, Sam's boyfriend was visiting from Texas, so mom and I took them out sightseeing. We had lunch at Bread Co. and spent a few hours at the Art Museum. I went last summer and posted a bunch of my pictures here, which is why I'm not taking you on a photo tour right now. I did take pictures, of course. There was a wedding party getting their pictures take on the hill in front of the museum, and I creeped on them and took pictures of the picture-taking. Sam and Sean rolled down the hill. We discovered that Sean looks just like George Caleb Bingham. There was a small gallery of student drawings from some local art school, and one of the artists was named Christopher Holmes. That was the name of my favorite high school teacher, and although I know it isn't him, I'm going to pretend it is. I like making up my own canons about people.

Last night, mom and I went to the Muny to see Footloose. I'd never seen the movie before, but I enjoyed the musical, even if it was incredibly far-fetched. The music was very good, the man playing the preacher had a beautiful voice, and the stage rotated, which is neat.

I drove for the first time this week! It wasn't at all like Mario Kart, which is the closest I'd come to driving before that, and I'm dreadful at Mario Kart. I actually wasn't terrible at it - I'm sure this is something I can do, with practice. I just need to work on more accurate steering. Mom was having me drive in between these little plastic traffic cones, and once when I was heading towards them, the wind blew them away and I was like AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH and hit the brakes because my target was gone.

- Reply to this post with the words PIZZA IS FOR LOVERS and I will pick six of your icons.
- Make a post (including this info) and talk about the icons I chose.
- Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
- This will create a never ending cycle of icon glee.

mokusan picked these:

1. (Beauty & The Beast) I do a lot of reading during the summer, so I wanted a book icon. I think gold-dressed Princess Belle is only alright, but I love blue-dressed Girl Belle, if that makes any sense.

2. (Toothpaste for Dinner) I LOVE HUGS, YOU GUYS. I don't actually read this webcomic (I don't like its penmanship), but the icon is truth.

3. (Supernatural) Misha Collins faces are the best faces. He is thinking very intensely about that soda.

4. (Hey Arnold) This is Stoop Kid. He was afraid to leave his stoop. A simple premise that became a classic episode of 90s kid's cartoons.

5. (Pokemon) I am a huge Team Rocket stan. Since rediscovering their greatness this year, I think I need to have a Team Rocket icon at all times.

6. (Lost) Jack is most well known for his crying, but his yelling is pretty formidable too. THIS IS MY FAVORITE ICON TO PAIR WITH CAPSLOCK. IT'S LIKE HE IS YELLING WHAT I AM TYPING.

mel on the road, icons, out and about, theater, mashi, i love my city, meme
