AKA "A Bunch of Awful Things Happen to John Laroquette"

Last night Annie and I went to see Inception. It was the second time for me, and I still love it. I think this is one of those movies that you could watch a dozen times and always notice something new.

Throughout the movie, and afterwards when we went to Steak n Shake, I was sniffly and my throat was sore. I figured it was because my allergy medicine was wearing off. I took a Benadryl before I went to bed, but I woke up feeling the same. I still have the runny nose and the sore throat. Definitely a cold.

I didn't feel up to much beyond watching TV, so I spend the day laying in bed watching the last two discs of The 10th Kingdom. It was about five hours straight. I love this miniseries so much, it's sweet and adorable and romantic and so clever. Everything about it is fantastic, except for the special effects, but that's only because it was made in 1999. I hadn't watched it since 2006, so it was a treat to revisit all the remembered scenes (the shepherdess contest and the trial, Kissing Town, "A Whiter Shade of Pale") and catch things I didn't get the last time I watched it ("Flowers only bloom where there's seeds, fireworks only explode when there's stuff in the rockets", all the Virginia/Snow White parallels, Tony being awesome). I was legitimately sad when I finished it, because there isn't more to watch. There's so much more to tell! I need a sequel. I need more Wolfy and Virginia. Someone make this happen.

I'm also having a hard time registering Dianne Wiest as the evil queen. She was the nice mom in Edward Scissorhands and The Birdcage! She can't be the cold-hearted villain!

inception, movies, 10th kingdom, sick
