"Last I checked, vanilla wasn't a fruit."

Saturday was the family Christmas party at cousin Lisa's house. I made my Oreos/ice cream/chocolate sauce/peanuts/whipped cream/sprinkles/more Oreos and chocolate sauce layered dessert, which is always a big hit. We also brought some store-bought cookies, which really wasn't necessary, as EVERYBODY BROUGHT COOKIES. Alright, not everybody, but about 75% of my relatives brought a platter of cookies, and when there's about 30 of us, that adds up to a lot. There were piles of them, and my cousin Jeff is like "Take some. Dear god, take some cookies."

I went over to Mashi's last night, and I was going to bake her family some cookies, but since there were so many at the party I just filled up a tupperware tub full of them and took those instead, sparing me the trouble of making my own. I felt so victorious.

So the party was fun. Got to hang out with some relatives and eat copious amounts of food. Took a bunch of pictures, I may put them up on Facebook later.

Spent the night at Mashi's. We got our annual bag of candy and exchanged our gifts. I got her this book, which she really loved. It's a big book about Nicktoons, with lots of storyboards and concept art. There's two pages of various Wild Thornberrys animals, five seasons worth of title cards for The Fairly Odd Parents, screenshots from an early claymation Hey Arnold short. So much fun to look at. I got a full-size nutcracker, decorated to look like Jack Sparrow. Neat!

We watched Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and a bunch of Cartoon Network, and her mom made us some delicious food. Nom.

Oh, and I went caroling on Friday night with Jeremiah and Tubby Tom and some other MMOSHers. We were in a really rich neighborhood, which made it even more interesting. Lots of gorgeous houses. Tom had printed out song sheets for us, mainly Christmas stuff, but it also had the dreidel song and a Kwanzaa tune he found, so he's saying that we should ask people for their denominations, and then James bursts out with "Oh, pagan, pagan, pagan!". It was hysterical at the time. I brought the lyrics to Run DMC's Christmas in Hollis, but by the time we got around to that one, nobody would answer their doors for us. It was a really great time.
