Love thine television

We finally got satellite! The guy came on Friday evening, and we were watching stuff by late that night. Only two TVs have DVR, the one in dad's room and the one in the living room, but they all have satellite channels now. There's lots of new channels, most notably BBC America and some Showtimes we have on trial for a few months. It's pretty cool. I watched an episode of Doctor Who today, the first one of the #9 series (if you don't know, ask someone else, I don't think I could really explain it), and I really enjoyed it. The effects are cheesy, but it's fun. I'm more used to 10, but 9 is also nice.
Friday night while the satellite was being installed, me and Jimmy walked down to McDonald's for dinner, and ended up discussing amputations, Teal'c, Prison Break, origami, Tribbles, and the mysteries of the Hamburgler. I really wonder about that guy.
Saturday we went down to the Bluhm's. I made all the kids hats; Nicole really liked her tiara, but I think the boys were just sort of 'meh' on their pirate hats. Nicole is so cute. She's like two and a half, and I can't understand most of what she's saying, but it's so adorable. She actually says "O-tay!" instead of okay, which was something I thought only TV kids did. She was real friendly, she sat on my lap and we read and colored and played with Play-Doh. And watched Go Diego Go!.
Went to the Alhambra Days carnival, which was good. There was a parade, and we got a ton of candy, and saw a guy dressed as Jesus and people in Colonial wear. The rides were pretty standard stuff, Fun House, Scrambler, Swinger, Tempest, but fun nonetheless. I'm still sore, though, all that sliding around. Bought myself an okay snowcone and a light up wand, because you can't go to a carnival and not get something that lights up or glows in the dark, and I can use it for the HP7 release.
Got to see Tim for a little bit yesterday, when we took Aidan home. They're going hiking today, but might stop by later.
