So very, very much squee. Also costumegasm. Idris!TARDIS waaaaaaaaaaant.
Subtitle: "How many Fifth Doctor references can Neil Gaiman squeeze in before the opening titles?" :-D There were other-Doctor callbacks too, but seriously, the "robot king" (which admittedly could echo "Androids of Tara" as much as "The King's Demons," and doesn't directly refer to either if Amy was there, but still), jettisoning parts of the TARDIS to get more thrust, AND the Matrix (albeit one within the TARDIS rather than the one on Gallifrey) all right in a row?
Lots of speculation about Idris!TARDIS' riddle ("The only water in the forest is the river"), of course, and whether the obviousness of its referring to River Song should be trusted. My first thought, though, taking that as read, was to focus on the operative "only."
Because -- leaving aside for the moment where the forest might be -- if it has only a river, then it has no ponds...
