The art of housework/home repair avoidance
Friday: Should not have started working on vid in the morning. Got on a roll. Did manage a little laundry.
Saturday: Did not disassemble dryer (which has been tumbling but not heating for about three weeks; next step on the troubleshooting list is the thermal fuse & then thermostat), but did fix the light pull and the garment rack in the spare room closet. Then went up to Wisconsin, where the parents are in from Colorado to mind ShinyHappyNiece while BigBabyBrother and Sister-in-Love go to her best friend's wedding today. ShinyHappyNiece is shiny and happy and VERY active and given to doing startling things with her voice. Also to the grabbing of hair. Except she can't seem to get hold of mine, much to her consternation. (Mommy has lots of thick wavy hair. Auntie Val does not.) She did, however, get a firm grip on brainiacfive's beard at one point.
Today: Off to the Art Institute with havocthecat and jennawaterford. I'm rather ashamed that it's taken me almost seven years in Chicago to get there. And entertained that, in addition to Beata Beatrix (the main reason I should have gone WAY sooner), they have one drawing each of Lizzie and Janey. (Unfortunately, neither is on display. *sadface*) It's like DGR relationship bookends!
Sometime this week: I will get the house into something resembling a presentable state before brainiacfive's parents arrive Friday. No, really!
