I find this awesome...though I get a feeling none of you will

Not too sure how many of you pay any attention to one's 'interests' section, but I like rifles...a lot. Making a tiny projectile hit a distant target both accurately and consistently is a never-ending source of fun and entertainment for me. Oh, and don't jump to conclusions--it's not live targets I'm talking about either. I'll only shoot a live target if (a) I intend to eat it, or (b) it is about to attack and devour me.

Anyway because I finally got my rifles up here from Wisconsin, I decided today would be a good day to zero them in. In the process of doing so, I rediscovered just how much of a shooter one of them happens to be. How accurate is this rifle, you ask? Imagine you have a dime 100 yards away...now imagine hitting it with a rifle 3 times in a row without touching the edges. To put it into perspective, this rifle has the potential to consistently hit a 10-inch target from a mile away.

A co-worker now living hundreds of miles away demanded I show proof. Happily, I saved the target:

Yes, there are three shots there--holes-on-holes tend to make it look like there are less. And yes, I'm aware I didn't hit dead center with any of them. It's the consistency I'm concerned with, and a group like that one couldn't make me happier.

Needless to say, this was interesting enough to me that I couldn't keep it to myself.
