Ouch! Mind that needle...

I'm back again... whoo, my head is spinning!
The wedding date draws ever nearer. Everything has gone beautifully save for one little issue. My wedding ring, coming from a Celtic jewelry studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico, was shipped to me via FedEx ground. Much to my dismay, we are housesitting for my folks at the moment, so I had to call and reschedule the delivery. Hopefully all will go well--I'm a wee bit frustrated, but I have to knuckle down and go thru all the motions to make sure everything is ready for when we leave on the 9th. I can't wait to see my ring-- sterling silver Celtic knotwork with a single round moonstone set center. It's so "me" I can't even get over it. Aaron got his 2 weeks ago-- a heavy titanium 10mm band, semi-burnished/semi-matte, with knotwork that matches the design on my engagement ring. Nontraditional, but then again, we've gotta be "us"!
Aaron and I are also preparing for another "leap" of sorts. This weekend I will be calling ArtThrob Tattoo and Piercing in Escondido to make an appointment for the weekend before we leave. We are going to be getting our first tattoos together to celebrate our upcoming nuptuals. I'm still designing Aaron's but it will be done by the time we go in. ArtThrob is just spectacular in skill and at the same time so reasonably priced, and I know they'll do a gorgeous job for both of us.
The reception for District 117 Gallery draws ever nearer. I'm a wee bit nervous--it takes such practice to speak to the public about one's work. I try to rehearse before each show, but it really just comes down to winging it. I'm fortunate that the piece being shown at District 117 is one that I have stared at since last year, and my emotions and thoughts on it are extremely solid. I'm afraid, however, that when the day of my first solo show comes, I might just be shit out of luck...
