We did a custom order just before Christmas. We had another client request us to make one, and we had already done all the research so it was fun to create it finally.
Ya'll may remember
Jadis, the White Witch Queen of Narnia, from the movie,
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. She was so magnificently portrayed by
Tilda Swinton in the movie and I would say was one of the best parts in the film. Here is Tilda looking amazing and ready to fight. She certainly frightens me.
So the crown, which was a metallic thing reminiscent of a lion's skull, as she is wearing
Aslan's Mane. Apparently, recreating this costume and the battle crown in particular, has been a challenge for some of the
Fan Costume Community. We enjoyed recreating in our medium and I think we nailed it. Certainly there are aspects of it we would like to improve, but over all, we're very happy with how it came out.
And here is Leah recreating the most famous movie still of Tilda in the crown.
I don't know about you, but she freezes my heart. One thing we realized is that the piece needs a large "up do" hair piece to rest against, match the mane, and allow the crown to sit farther back on the head. However, here is a side by side of Leah and Tilda, and I think my wife looks delightfully wicked and queenly.
