We went for brief walk down the
Allegany Highlands Trail, starting in
Frostburg, Maryland. Just a little walk, only a half mile down the trail and back. We would love to walk the trail extensively, but time hasn't allowed it yet. So we were drawn down the path by the lure of the Golden Woods. A tunnel of glory, glowing in the sun. It was like walking in
Lothlorien.
I have had some trouble with my gallery hosted on my website, so all of these are on
Flickr.
All the images that are horizontal have been re-sized to fit on the screen. Right click on them, hit view image, and you see the full sized for a desktop.
Ellawyn loved the leaves and the beautiful day. We are trying to sup at the well of warm Autumnal days in these final moments before the end of it all. Soon the North winds will blow and the snow come down. Winter is long in the mountains, and lovely all the same, but these days of glory are something else.
Here is Ell playing on the bike rack before running down the trail.
The Autumnal Beauties.
And here is one of my favorite Autumn beauties...
Here is a pretty little leaf collector.
And her dad.
And finally, one just for a desktop, that I edited to have a golden edge as a space for icons.
I hope you liked our journey.
