We will be attending and exhibiting at the 2nd Annual FaerieCon!

I wrote about last year's first FaerieCon here:

This year's guest of honor is the amazing Alan Lee.

Alan is best known for his work on the Lord of the Rings Films, which, unless you have been living in a hollow tree in the wild wood for a ten year or more, then you have heard of. Alan was one of the conceptual artist for for the film and his work is breathtaking to say the least.

However, for the fans of Alan's faerie art, there is the all important book, Faeries, which he create with Brian Froud. Brian as well will be in attendance along with his talent wife Wendy, and his son, Toby. And in case you didn't know, Toby was the the baby boy in the 1986 movie, Labyrinth, starring David Bowie. The story goes that after audition many toddlers, the only one not afraid of the goblin puppets for the movie was the one whose home was filled with them, so Toby was cast. As the movie was 22 years ago, you can imagine that Toby is grown up now, however, I understand he jokes about still being known for those striped pajamas. Here he is:

Also in attendance is a whole host of other fantasy art luminaries and friends. I don't have the time to list all those with links, but you can search the names.

Ari Berk, Charles Vess, Ruth Sanderson, Wendy Pini, Jasmine Beckett-Griffith, Holly Black, Ruth Sanderson, Brigid Ashwood, Ash Evans, Linda Ravenscroft, Kinuko Craft, Michael Hague, John and Caitlin Matthews, Helena Nelson-Reed, Paul Borda, Jen Delyth, Courtney Davis, Lisa Steinke, Renae Taylor, Jane Star Weils, and many more.

There will be a Good Faeries Ball on Friday night.

And a Bad Faeries Ball on Saturday night:

Both of which feature some amazing musical entertainment and performers. Here is a scene from last year's balls.

Naturally, there will be a Marching of the Blessed Order of the Greenman, on Saturday, about 11:00 AM, and the whole event is sponsored in part by our dear friends at Faerie Magazine.

This is one of those events that is a once in a lifetime and is an essential step in our career as fantasy artists. Were we not exhibiting, we would still attend, but with two masquerade balls, the show is made for us.

I truly hope to see many of you there!
