Vienna

I'm back! It was a great trip, possibly the best of the three trips to Vienna I've been on with pupils. They behaved very well, there were no incidents or accidents and I had the pleasure to travel in the great company of a colleague who's a lot like me in many regards: we shared and swapped meals when we weren't able to choose. Gorgeous photos! I'm going over to the local photo shop this morning to talk to them about a different lens for my DSLR. The real problem is that the camera is kind of too big. So I don't know quite what I'm going to do... I love it and perhaps a good carrying bag that will let me carry my laptop with it as well will be the answer. I rarely carry it with me...

These are either snagged with my phone or the Lumix. The funny thing is I had to choose between a powerful telezoom lens for my Lumix or a small compact one with great zoom. I ended up ordering the latter because I don't want to change lenses too often for fear of getting dirt into the camera, or schlep more stuff around than I already do (my Vienna handbag was heavy). Plus, it's an all-can-do camera that fits into my pocket. Can't wait to get it.

I'm glad it's over, though. Traveling with pupils means I'm responsible for their well-being and on duty 24/7.
