So I finally got to see Donnie Darko. A good movie, very thought provoking... Time Travel, etc. A few phrases kinda hit on my lonely mood lately though...
I've come to find out that Humans are physical creatures. When they hurt, whether physically or emotionally, they want someone else there. It really doesn't matter who, just someone near, within grasp. Usually emotional pain warrants a hug for comfort or a shoulder to cry on, while physical pain is usually a hand to squeeze. Makes sense? We crave physical contact and without this, we feel isolated, alone. I bet everyone has found themselves saying, "I just want to be held tonight." or "I really wish there was someone else here with me now." I know I have... quite a bit recently. At night, some people hug pillows, or lie next to them to not feel so alone; I myself have my Teddy... But there is no substitute for a living, breathing, warm being... You can be happy without this contact and touch, but it eats away at you after a while, like a drip of water on a piece of ice...
"Every living creature on earth dies alone."
Note to self: When lonely, don't watch movies that make you think on lonliness.
