Well, it's 2009 now. Yay~
And things didn't go nearly as badly at work tonight as they have in previous years. See, every year since I've been there (and quite a few before that, according to a coworker), we have some fairly major malfunctions on New Years Eve. Something to do with the date (or possibly just the year) changing, and it throws things all out of whack. Usually puts us majorly behind schedule, or worse. (Like last year, when they couldn't get it working and finally just sent us home, and had some people go back on New Years Day to deal with it)
Thankfully, they got started on it a lot earlier this time, and they were able to get things going again within a reasonable about of time. So, work went pretty well tonight. Huzzah.
Ooh, and I got to sample some of the new tea lattes Starbucks is bringing out. I was ordering some chai and got to talking to the barista about the new drinks they're getting. I said that I was looking forward to it, because I love tea. So, they let me try some of them. I tried the black tea latte (hot and iced), the Earl Grey latte (hot), and the vanilla rooibos tea latte (hot).
I really liked the black tea latte, both hot and cold, which was a little surprising; I didn't quite think I'd like it cold. But it was good. <3 Also, the Earl Grey latte was nice, too. Though I think I may order extra syrup in both of them; the samples weren't quite sweet enough. I'm...not quite sure what to make of the rooibos latte. I'd never had red tea before, so I was really eager to try it. It was....different. That's the only way I can think to describe it. An odd sort of fruity-flowery flavor that I really can't identify. I think (for me, anyway) it'd be an acquired taste. If I started drinking it, I'd probably get used to it and maybe like it after a while. But right off the bat, I'm not so fond of it.
I also tried the green tea latte; I'd kinda wanted to for a while, since I love green tea, but I would normally not put milk in it, so I wasn't sure if I'd like it. Sadly, I didn't. I really hoped I would, but I thought it was gross. Milk does not belong in green tea. (Plus, I'm fairly sure they brew it way too hot, so the tea itself probably isn't any good, anyway.) Ah, well. I still have my chai, and now, those new tea lattes. (Plus, I still need to try the new chai infusions they're getting~)
...Damn it, now I want tea. XD Guess it's time to go raid that lovely Bigelow sampler tin I got for Christmas. <3
