Character Name: Vriska Serket
Fandom:
Homestuck.
Vriska’s page.
Timeline: As she lays dying on the Quest Bed just before Tavros runs away and she ascends to God Tier.
Crimes: Murder, manipulation of others, torture, assisted murder, vandalism, matricide, bullying. So much bullying.
Personality:
If you asked anyone who knew Vriska well enough what she was like the first thing they would (most likely) say is, “Bluh bluh HUGE BITCH.” This already says something about Vriska, but it’s only a taste compared to everything else others having to say about her. Vriska Serket is considered a highly dangerous troll, what with her sociopathic tendencies and deranged personality. Of course while she may be psychotic, unremorseful, hateful, angry, short-tempered, paranoid, there are reasons as to why she is like she is!
One reason could be her giant spider lusus. You see, while other trolls were being taken care of by their lusii, Vriska was left taking care of HER lusus most of the time. This encompassed making sure her monster of a lusus was always fed, lest she be her spider mother’s next meal. These meals were other young trolls that Vriska killed during games of FLARP, an extreme role-playing game that Vriska took high enjoyment in. In it she was at the top of her class and at the highest levels - naturally. She had the best motivator, after all. In FLARP she played with another troll named Terezi. During the games Terezi broke away from Vriska, not particularly liking that Vriska kept killing all the other trolls for fun or for food. Who would? Well they split up and Vriska was left alone to her conquests of booty hunting and treasure stealing.
Well after throwing someone off a cliff things went downhill pretty fast for her. From there she manipulated Aradia’s boyfriend to kill her (she deserved it! After bringing up all those ghosts of dead trolls to haunt her…) and then when Terezi ousted her cheating to another player (that resulted in Vriska losing an arm and her seven eyes) she used Tavros’s powers to commune with animals to guide Terezi’s unborn lusii to command Terezi to stare into the Alternian sun and consequently blinding her. Vriska acts on impulse and without hesitation, as her aforementioned actions confirm. She tends to jump the gun in situations and doesn’t think of the consequences of what her actions may bring. If anything bad ever happens she just happens to blame it on her “bad luck” and won’t even think to wonder if there are any other reasons as to why certain things happen to her (such as stepping on the dice littered about in her room; this wouldn’t happen if she just tidied up a bit, but no. It’s her confounded bad luck!). She also hates being ignored - to her any attention is better than no attention, whether it be good or bad. Even if everyone hates her she’d rather have their spite than have nothing at all. Being alone and unnoticed is a great fear for Vriska and one she wants to completely vanquish. On the flip side she is paranoid as well. “What are they saying? Are they talking about her? What are they planning? I need to know I MUST KNOW! They’ll never outsmart me I won’t let them!” And so on and so forth…
Yet Vriska isn’t totally lost to her sociopathic mentality. There are times (as few as they may be) where she feels guilt and a little remorse for the things she’s done. The only problem is that while she may feel these things (sincere as they may be) no one else would believe her if she said so. Why? Well because she’s also a lying bitch. When she isn’t spouting off about her GR8TNESS she’s almost always lying about one thing or another. It’s naturally for her to deny anything that contradicts her own ideas and what she believes about herself, truth or not. She walks the walk and talks the talk to a capital T and she’ll forever deny anything that opposes her own ‘truth’ even when she herself knows it’s true. Admitting that she was wrong is a weakness and a kind of defeat and Vriska is not someone who admits to defeat or weakness. Nope, not ever. Never ever.
She’d faster throw a tantrum than bend for anyone else. Everyone else must bend to HER will. Naturally, no one in their right mind who knows Vriska well enough would do this. This is where Vriska uses her abilities to manipulate people through her mind control to get what she wants. It’s really the only way she CAN make people do what she wants, but there’s a kick. Only those of weak minds are susceptible to her abilities which leaves out the most infuriating people (to her) unaffected by her powers. One such troll is Terezi Pyrope. Even after being blinded by her it seems that Terezi’s abilities to push people into what she wants have only tripled in size and it only furthers Vriska’s anger and jealously. Yes, that’s right, she is terribly, green-in the face jealous of Terezi. She doesn’t understand it and what Vriska doesn’t understand only continues to fuel her anger which pushes her to manipulate more which makes others despise her more which increases her paranoia which… yeah. In the end it just becomes one big vicious cycle that she just can’t seem to break out of.
Abilities:
Vriska’s abilities don’t span much farther than mind control and extreme FLARPing. Her mind control is essentially taking control of someone else of a weaker mindset and controlling them to do whatever she wants. She can also slightly influence feelings (such as seen when she tries to make Tavros WANT to kiss her), but when used on humans it seems she can only make them fall asleep and wake up.
She also has eight 4-sided dice that she uses to carry out commands to her sylladex and pull out weird and utterly morbid shit, like a guillotine device used to decapitate her lusus as a means to end her suffering after an avalanche of rocks crushed her.
Multifandom Test:
Off the top of my head I think Vriska would have an interesting relationship with Road (Rhode) Kamelot from D. Gray-Man. Both girls are sociopathic and unremorseful in their actions towards others (except when it comes to family for Road) and yet I think if they were to meet I don’t think they would get along. Like, at all. Vriska would probably see Road as a threat, especially if Road started interacting with her ‘prey’ (Tavros, for example) and would get pretty pissed that this person was moving in on her territory. It also wouldn’t help that Road can manipulate people so much better than Vriska could.
Third person sample:
Vriska woke up in a white room, wearing white clothes, covered in a white sheet, on a white, soft rectangle. After having nearly bled to fucking death (no thanks to one brain dead, cowardly idiotwith no spine whatsoever - the goo8er.) Vriska’s idea of God Tier did not match up with… with whatever this shit was. Whatever this was it wasn’t God Tier. That fuckass Tavros must have screwed something up, she knew it. It just went to show that if she wanted something done right she’d have to do it herself.
Even if it was impossible for her to drag herself up to the Quest Bed and stab herself before she bled out, she would have found a way.
She sat up and squinted past her bed, unable to really make out anything without her glasses on. Looking around she found them folded up neatly on the bedside table with her clothes folded up neatly in a chair nearby. Sliding them on was a mistake as she only found herself becoming more pissed off as she looked around the room in better clarity. What the hell was this place?! So much white- too much white! Vriska kicked off the bed sheets with the intent on getting up and blowing this joint when she came upon another startling revelation.
Clasped around her ankle was a dark chain connected to a heavy, dark iron ball. It rolled out of bed when she moved her leg and it dropped to the floor like dead weight.
Fucking perfect. She tugged at the chain, testing its strength and then started to try and maneuver her ankle out of the clasp, but to no luck. It was stuck on her, pulling her down and branding her as an ‘easy target’. Was this someone’s piss-poor idea of a joke? Chewing on her lower lip with a fang Vriska sat there and steamed over this new thought. Whoever did this would suffer a THOUS8ND TIMES OVER and then a HUNDRED TIMES MORE. This hoofbeast shit would not fly around her, no way! Not when she was so close to getting what she deserved.
No way.
Someone was going to answer for these shenanigans, so help her, or her name wasn't Vriska Serket.

Hmmmmmmmm~? What is this, a joke? [A sharp and high pitched laugh.] And here I was thinking small- but really this is all so much bigger!
A biiiiiiiig joke.
[Something hits the wall with a ‘thud’ in the background.]
Do you honestly~ think this will stop me? What a laugh! You can’t hold down Vriska fucking Serket down for long, no way! [A snide ‘hmpf’, a sneer evident in her tone.]
But… I’ll humor you for now. Why not make this enjoyable, yessssssss~? Where would the fun be if I didn’t make you regret ever thinking you could change me?
[Another ‘thud’ against the wall.]
So let’s get this started. Who else has the misfortune to being stuck here with me?
