scuba mall adventure

I know I've been gone for a long time with nothing to show for it, so yesterday I finally got up and took pictures during the day yesterday as we went out. I'm not doing anything this morning, so I'd figure I'd put these up. It was a long day.

Mom and I drove down to Hanauma Bay, to do some snorkling. The parking lot was full, so were were refused the first couple of times we drove by. After about an hour of her complaining, we finally got in.

Starting off in the shallow water, what will we find?

An extremely blurry school of fish!

I don't know what this is

or this either

One of the only underwater pictures where something is actually visable...

These urchins are hiding EVERYWHERE, and I mean EVERY FREAKING WHERE.
Funny story, when we went yesterday, we just happened to go at the peak of low tide, which is NOT FUN. These things hide in every crevice and hold you can look in, and with about 10 inches between my bare stomach and the reef... the fun constantly wavered. I actually got stuck out on the reef further in the sea, and while assessing on where to swim next (somewhere with less reef), the tide kept coming in, and that shit is POWERFUL. I mean, I could handle it swimming in actual water no problem, but when I'm on said reef and I'm clinging for dear life because I don't want to scrape myself on the coral, It's scary and exhausting. I had to let go and eventually let the current take me back to shore, all the way watching where I put my hand or stomach so I'm not greeted with STINGING PAIN or an EEL BITE.

hello :3

What's this swimming out under me?

Had my zoom turned to the max. Sorry. Let's fix that...

That thing was BIG. And beautiful. It swam out from right under me, and I wanted to keep following it, but some other girl who found it kept kicking me in the face with her fins as she followed it. I hope a jellyfish stung her. Some people.

Last one.

I actually took a lot more (naturally), but these are the only ones that ended up being somewhat presentable. You would think taking pictures underwater would be as easily as on land, but it isn't. Either because the camera's backlight is different or the sun reflecting off the water makes it weird or whatever but underwater I can't see SQUAT on the camera's screen. I'm basically shooting blind. I'm lucky I got that one good snapshot of the turtle. We're returning tomorrow, and on saturday for night diving.

Then was a trip down to Waikiki. They have this HUGE mall there, that caters to all the tourists that come by. Mostly Japanese.

koi fountain. Inside an arcade...

PLUSH

SNICKERS

BAR

Some kind of Bemani-but-not-really cabinets. I guess they were like... Taiko Drum Master Lites. I actually dreamt about one last night. I sucked at it.

Then I ran into a Japanese department store. In the mall. It was awesome. Sensory overload. I think it was called Shirokiya.

These things!

Not that I'd ever drink one.

are you kidding me

Apparently Calpis makes marshmallow candies too. I wonder if they also taste like flat Squirt?

STAR BITS OMG

I just...

....

ARE THOSE MOTHERFUCKING POGS? YOU BET YOUR JELLY ASS THEY ARE MOTHEFUCKER.

Jigsaw puzzles, all of them. To the used bookstore (which sells games and music too)!

GS4 special edition. Too bad the game was meh. Alright, but nothing to write home about. It was no GS3, that's for sure.

*whine whine whimper* ;_;

Artbook from the visual artist of Gitaroo Man. "Nakamura Mitsuru"...

it's like i'm really konata

A picture taken of my leg to find out what time it was. My cellphone had died, and with no way to contact my mother of find out the time, my camera was my last hope.

Going back to the mall today, what fun will I find this time?
