Feeling Very Chipper

Although very tired. I stayed up too late last night watching Person of Interest and playing Solitaire (I needed a writing break).

I know, I love him, too. It's a shame the movie was so universally reviled, because he made a CRACKING good Doctor. (Of course, he's done dozens of Big Finish audios, and got more--and better--novels than just about any other Doctor!)

5:2 is a two days of fast, five days of eating normal plan. I heard a story on it on NPR and then Googled it, and decided to try and see if it worked for me. It's not precisely a diet, but it does require some discipline and it has helped me with my eating habits. For two days of the week, I have drastically reduced caloric intake (less than 500 calories); the rest of the week I eat normally, but focus on "normal=healthy," with plenty of protein, veggies and fruit, etc. I chose Monday & Thursday for my "fast" days, and what I do is have dinner early on Sunday evening, then don't eat a meal again until Monday dinner. Ditto from Wednesday night until Thursday night. On days when there are treat days at work, say, I've moved fast days to Tuesday or Wednesday without trouble. It has been a slow, even, steady weight loss for me -- I'm not as "thin" as I was when I was working out, but it's nice to be back in a number of my "too-tight" pants!

Yeah, today's nice, but it's been HOT the last week. Ugh, indeed.
