WTG on the weight loss! I wish I had the motivation to do something about my weight. I've gained a good 6 pounds since I broke my ankles, which I hope I'll start losing during PT, since it'll at some point involve walking and other weight-strengthening exercises.

Boo on the sick. I hope you feel better soon. There's nothing more annoying than an illness you think you got over coming back with a vengeance after a couple of fantastic days.

Ah, Dallas. As an Austinite, I ALWAYS felt like Dallas should be closer to Austin. I can't explain to people in any other state what it's like to live in a place where it takes at least 6 hours to get to any other state. When an Austinite takes a weekend vacation, it's almost always to Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio, because it's just too damn expensive to either fly somewhere, or ridiculous to drive for so long to get somewhere outside of Texas, because it eats up at least 12 hours round-trip of your time. You can get from Dallas to Austin in about 3 1/2-4 hours depending on your speed and whether there's construction. If you have the time, I say do it. :D

If I HAD the time, I surely would do it, because I want to see Austin like CRAZY. Unfortunately, since it IS a work trip, I will be working days, and there is no way to drive at least 7 hours (there and back again) and actually be able to DO anything. Ah, well. I'll see what I can of Dallas, at least.

If you have time, I recommend visiting the aquarium. It's really spiffy and easy to get to. The art museum is pretty cool, too.

We shall see. I doubt I'll have much time for sight-seeing, alas. Mostly I expect to see the inside of our office there!
