It's not really June 1

I lost a day somewhere, as I was laboring under the illusion that yesterday was May 31. Hence my hurry to post best wishes to framefolly, whose birthday is in fact today. Silly me.

So my new vacation didn't arrive (it will tomorrow), so I didn't put in my requests, although it was the first OFFICIAL day in my new position.

Brisco county is another one of those shows I should have liked yet didn't.

I find I love Brisco even more now than I did then, for all it's silly and absurdest. (The puns are excruciating sometimes, but I laugh at every single one!)

I should try it again. If i'm remembering the dates on that I was either in med school or just after it when I didn't watch much tv and had little energy for humor left (I even hated Buffy the first time out)

Yeah, it was 1994. I always figured it was made for people who loved Wild Wild West, since it's science fiction thinly disguised as a western, with semi-magical orbs from outer space, a mad scientist, rockets, tanks, "motored cycles," a horse who all but speaks English, and jokes like Lord Bowler taking a doughnut from a kid and saying, "Thanks, Duncan."

Great cast, too. But I nearly always love Bruce Campbell.

I loved wild wild west and Bruce Campbell but yes that was during my residency and doing 36 hour shifts so I missed a lot of it.

I am struck, though, on this re-watch, at how high the production values are. I can't believe this was on weekly (never occurred to me, back in 1994, how important that was, but I think back then shows were given more time to find an audience before being cancelled).

i should netflix it. Oh, I'm definitely sure shows had much more time back then and even more in the 80s
